Scope
Desktop app settings apply only in the desktop app
The App settings panel is desktop-only. It saves local app preferences, controls how links open in an external browser, and manages app updates.
Shortcut
Configure the desktop toggle shortcut
The desktop hotkey shows or hides WebCull from anywhere on the Mac. Recording requires at least one modifier key plus another key. Clearing the shortcut disables the registered hotkey.
Command/Ctrl + Shift + Space
This is the default desktop shortcut shown by the settings UI when no custom shortcut has replaced it.
Open links
Choose how desktop link handoff works
Use Default Browser
Returns external link handoff to the system default browser.
Choose Browser
Stores a custom browser path so WebCull opens bookmark links and browser login in that browser.
Browser path
Shown only when a custom browser is selected.
Updates
Check, download, and install desktop updates
The desktop app can check for updates, show the current and downloaded versions, turn automatic downloads on or off, turn auto install on or off, and install a downloaded update when one is ready.
Check for Updates
Checks whether a newer desktop app version is available.
Automatic Downloads
Allows update downloads to happen automatically. Turning this off also turns auto install off.
Auto Update Install
Allows downloaded updates to install automatically. Turning it on also keeps automatic downloads enabled.
Open Onboarding
Reopens the desktop app welcome flow.
